Excited to welcome colleagues from across the ALS research and drug development community to the NEALS Workshop on Advancing ALS Clinical Trials as we dive into key topics shaping the future of ALS clinical trials: preclinical research, biomarkers, trial design, statistics, and outcome measures. This workshop is all about collaboration—fostering open dialogue between industry leaders, researchers, and clinicians. These discussions are key pieces in accelerating meaningful treatments for people living with ALS. Looking forward to the insights and momentum that come from today’s conversations! #ALSResearch #ClinicalTrials #NEALS
About us
In 1995, the Northeast ALS Consortium (NEALS) was founded as an independent, non-profit group of research sites that collaboratively conduct clinical research in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and other motor neuron diseases. While retaining its original acronym and focus on ALS trials, NEALS has since developed into an international, consortium of ALS clinical research centers. Together, the scientists at these centers work to improve the efficiency and quality of ALS clinical trials and research, expand access to clinical research, support biomarker development with a robust biorepository, innovate ALS clinical care, and educate the community about ALS research. Through these efforts, NEALS strives to rapidly translate scientific breakthroughs into new therapies and help people with ALS live longer and maintain a higher quality of life.

NEALS Consortium reposted this
ALS Clinical Research Learning Institute (CRLI) The ALS Hope Foundation will be offering a special educational opportunity, the ALS Clinical Research Learning Institute (CRLI®), on May 2-3, 2025. The CRLI is an intensive 2 day program dedicated to educating attendees on the clinical research process, therapy development, the treatment landscape and advocacy in order to empower this group to be advocates for ALS clinical research. This program was conceived by Dr. Richard Bedlack through collaboration with the Northeast ALS (NEALS) Consortium including 5 previous Philadelphia programs through the ALS Hope Foundation. People living with ALS along with their caregivers are invited to participate in this program and graduate as "Research Ambassadors" and ALS advocates. People living with ALS (PALS), Caregivers of people with ALS (CALS), and surviving family members are encouraged to apply. All PALS are invited to attend with one caregiver.
