🧑🏽💻 It's #DigitalCitizenshipWeek 🧑🏽💻 It's hard to believe that my journey from the music classroom to the world of EdTech started 10 years ago. It was a shift that has shaped my career and opened doors for my students. Digital citizenship is about more than just understanding technology—it’s about fostering critical thinking, empathy, and ethical decision-making in an increasingly connected and confusing world. In my fist year as a tech teacher, I was so grateful for free resources that organizations like Common Sense Media and Code.org provided. I relied heavily on this content as I was learning the ropes and what it meant to truly develop digital citizens. The students in this video are now in their 20's. 🤯 I know that engaging in these lessons and activities in middle school helped shape the digital citizens they have become. Ten years later, I'm continuing this same work at Nearpod. I'm so excited we partner with Common Sense Media to make their high quality digital citizenship lessons active, engaging, and accessible.
