Since 2022, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has focused on protecting employees' rights. In July 2024, the CFPB proposed an Interpretive Rule to regulate Earned Wage Access (EWA) programs under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and Regulation Z (Reg Z). The aim is to provide transparency and protect employees from predatory lending practices. Comments on the new rule are open until August 30, 2024.
