This #NETWise episode is an excellent explanation of immunotherapy, why it's not an option for #neuroendocrinecancer now, and the promise for the future. Here's a hint--how can a junior high dance help you understand immunotherapy???? This is a must-listen! Thank you Jessica Salinis Thomas, LCSW Daniel Halperin Laurie Littlepage Mauro Cives and Eleonora Pelle! Suzanne Ludlow, AICP, CPM Steve Kaufer Josh Mailman Laurie Rains Julie Mebane
I am super proud of this episode and how it breaks down and explains immunotherapy. Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about immunotherapy, which has transformed treatment for patients with some kinds of cancer. Listen to this episode of NETWise as we explore current research into immunotherapy and what it might mean for neuroendocrine cancer. https://lnkd.in/eEFztTXC Daniel Halperin Elyse Gellerman CitizenRacecar Anna Greene Susan Harrington Josh Mailman Laurie Littlepage

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday, October 19th, for Jim Jungsten's 3rd Annual Charity Dinner in Fair Oaks, CA in honor of his late finance Sheryl Sorem. This incredible event helped to raise crucial funds for the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (NETRF). Thank you to all who attended in person and virtually with the online auction. Every donation counts, and we're grateful for the impact Jim is making in the fight against neuroendocrine cancer. Stay tuned for more updates on how you can continue to support this important cause! #NETRF #NeuroendocrineCancer #FindACure #CharityEvent

NETWise has surpassed 75,000 downloads! 🎉 Big congrats to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation for hitting this milestone and creating this invaluable resource. In each episode, experts and patients come together to break down neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) in a way that helps patients, caregivers, and families navigate the complex world of NET diagnosis and treatment. NETWise is a guide for all—from the newly diagnosed to longtime survivors—making it easier for everyone to stay informed and empowered. And it's our pleasure to help bring this series to life! #podcast #NETS #patienteducation #milestone

It is my pleasure to share our new preprint, where we investigated the unexpected #hematotoxicity of the #SSTR2 #antagonist 177Lu-DOTA-JR11 in #neuroendocrine tumor patients. By using versatile multimodal analogs of clinical SSTR2 radioligands, we could show SSTR2-mediated specific binding to rare populations of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs). Since antagonists showed higher binding than agonists, not only to tumor cells, but also to HSPCs, we postulate that an increased dose is delivered to those stem and progenitor cells during antagonist treatment, while a similar overall red marrow dose is measured for agonists and antagonists. Check out the full story here: https://lnkd.in/ezpwWyah An important takeaway is that in addition to the importance of whole organ dosimetry, considering which cell types in complex organs receive radiation really matters to assess the safety of novel radiopharmaceuticals. This project was a prolific collaboration of Nghia Nguyen and Yu Min from my lab with the hematology and oncology department at TUM University Hospital, especially Katharina S. Götze, Florian Bassermann and Jennifer Riviere, as well as Ali Azhdarinia at UTHealth in Houston and Matthias Brendel and Laura M. Bartos at the University Hospital at LMU Munich and our nuclear medicine clinic director Wolfgang Weber. We are very grateful to have received a pilot grant by The Education and Research Foundation and Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation to conduct this project.

Cancer takes its toll physically and emotionally, and having an uncommon, often misdiagnosed cancer adds even more stress. On #WorldMentalHealthDay, we call out the importance of tending to our mental health right along with our physical health. NETRF provides essential support for people with #Neuroendocrinecancer and their families. Please check out Jessica Salinis Thomas, LCSW each #ThrivershipThursday for compassionate, practical tips. #emotionalwellness #NET #NEC #cancerresearch
It's #WorldMentalHealthDay and also NETRF's #thrivershipthursday. If you are living with #NeuroendocrineCancer or love someone living with #NET or #NEC, this is for you! If you are living with another type of illness, you could benefit from this as well. #emotionalwellness

Hi LinkedIn Family! I rarely post anything personal but I feel this is important. I lost my fiancé Sheryl Sorem 3 years ago to a very rare form of cancer. Sheryl was a hospitality professional for over 25 years working in hotels throughout the United States. She was an incredible person who devoted herself to her family/kids, the hospitality industry and her fitness. She was taken from us way to soon. You can read our story on her website https://lnkd.in/gyGujf5b . I am doing my 3rd annual charity dinner Saturday October 19th in Fair Oaks CA. My hotel partners have generously donated over 120 hotel packages to this cause. Half of these packages will be raffled/auctioned off and the other half I have put on Galabid and we are doing a silent auction that ends next Friday. That website is https://lnkd.in/gGpS-dyi . Most packages start at under $200.00. All of the proceeds will be going to raise money for her charity the “Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation” (NETRF). I am hopeful that we can raise a lot of money and find a cure for this rare type of cancer.
