We partner with healthcare providers and payers to optimize cognitive screening workflows with efficient digital tools.

About us

Cognitive health starts here. Neurotrack’s rapid digital cognitive screening can identify patients with cognitive impairment in just 3 minutes. This tool enables clinicians—for the first time ever—to screen and monitor cognitive function as they would any other vital sign. We believe it will increase the number of annual cognitive assessments completed, open the door to meaningful early intervention, improve access to new pharmaceutical treatment options, and validate or alleviate patient concerns. By design, it fits easily within a typical primary care annual wellness visit workflow. It scores instantly and objectively, requires no specialized training to administer, and uses culturally-agnostic symbols and numbers to ensure inclusivity and remove barriers to care. In 40 seconds, a medical assistant can set a patient up to take the screening on a tablet independently in an exam room, then upload results to the EMR. Or patients can be sent a link to take the test remotely and walk in ready to discuss results. As a complement to this first-line screening, Neurotrack offers access to patient education and coaching to support a brain-healthy lifestyle. Neurotrack has published 25 peer-reviewed papers and its solutions have been recognized by leading organizations including the Cleveland Clinic and the National Institute on Aging. Working with providers, health systems and employer partners, Neurotrack has enabled more than 170,000 cognitive assessments on its platform. In February 2023, Neurotrack was named winner of the Alzheimer’s Association Pitch Competition, aimed at identifying innovations to increase cognitive assessment and early detection and diagnosis of dementia within primary care settings. In August 2023, we were named to the Norrsken Impact/100, a list of the world's top impact startups. The company has raised a total of $57 million in funding to support and accelerate its go-to-market push with major health systems and providers.

Do you recall this classic playground comeback: "I'm rubber, you're glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you." Next time you're tempted to disparage older people, consider this boomerang effect! (And yes, your elders are the rubber in that analogy.) Dr. Becca Levy of Yale School of Public Health, has conducted extensive research on how our beliefs shape the way we age, and it doesn't bode well for ageists. If you think of older adults as frail and feeble, you might end up being hospitalized for longer stretches and even dying earlier. It's not just bad karma. The hypothesis is that if you expect to decline, you're less likely to take good care of yourself. You may withdraw socially, which will isolate you, and compound aging. And ageists seem to have higher cortisol levels, which can raise cardiovascular risk factors. At Neurotrack, we're in the business of helping providers catch cognitive decline in its earliest stages with our efficient cognitive screenings. This is important because the sooner you catch impairment, the more you can do to slow progression. But don't let our focus mislead you. No matter what test your doctor uses, the majority of older adults will NOT have serious cognitive problems. Normal aging does NOT look like #dementia. October 9th is Ageism Awareness Day. Get an idea of where your beliefs lie by taking Dr. Levy's quick quiz here: https://lnkd.in/gDEZsreB #endageism

It's World Alzheimer's Day, and some of our Neurotrack team members in Vancouver, British Columbia, are dusting off their hiking boots for tomorrow's epic Climb for Alzheimer's at Grouse Mountain. Read on to find out what it's all about (or should we say, "aboot" 🇨🇦?) and how one Neurotracker is feeling on the eve of this challenge.

I don't think I realized what a city slicker I was until I spent time in British Columbia. Instead of a mellow Alzheimer's WALK, they have a crazy CLIMB - up the side of a ski hill. It's a 2.5 km journey (or more than 1.5 miles) almost straight up, an 800 meter (or almost half a mile) elevation gain. The locals refer to this fitness challenge as "the Grouse Grind." And I'm about to do it. Yesterday I texted my husband A. Ryan Loveridge, "Should I scribble down a will?" He reassured me that I'll probably make it, there are a few defibrillators along the way. Easy for him to joke. He's from here. He does this in 40 minutes. I'm told it might take average folks like me two to three hours. That's a long way of saying, I'm doing this crazy thing that won't be easy for me tomorrow, but it's for a good cause. (If you'd like to support my effort with a small donation to Alzheimer's Society of BC, please do! As of this post, I'm still shy of my goal: https://lnkd.in/guUnHW9F) I'm climbing in loving memory of his amazing mom and my girls' wonderful grandmother, Colleen Loveridge. I'm also doing it in support of the older adults that I think about every day while working for Neurotrack, where we make efficient and frictionless new cognitive tests that help primary care doctors catch cognitive impairment early, unlocking support for patients and caregivers, opening up new treatment possibilities, and ultimately improving quality of life! I'll also be thinking about my dad (the late, great neurologist Martin Lapkin, MD, of NYC and Palm Springs, California) who really hated to make this diagnosis, because he knew what a tough battle lay ahead, but did it many times a week regardless. I'm so proud to be part of the effort to improve the tools, the #healthtech, and the collective outlook on #dementia. And cautiously optimistic for my climb! 😅 💪 💜 #endalz #worldalzheimersday

As our team knows all too well, you can tell your loved ones all about managing modifiable risk factors for #dementia. You can point them to the latest research and excellent resources. And, if you have the means, you can even set them up with meal deliveries, personal trainers, guitar lessons, and longevity specialists. At the end of the day, it's still on the older adults in our lives to: make the healthy choices... keep their brains and bodies challenged... and show up for those appointments. But, there is one way you can go a little further in protecting their cognition, and it's simple. Spend time together. That's it! Just hang out. Keep them company. Visit. Pop by for tea. Catch up. Tell stories. Have a laugh. Go for a stroll. Loneliness is a major risk factor, and it's one you can manage together. (So, stop scrolling and make a date with someone you love.) #endalz #prevention #Alzheimers

News from the Alzheimer's Association® International Conference has us rethinking that modern party staple: the charcuterie board! When a four decade study of more than 100,000 individuals shows a significant link between the consumption of processed meats (like salami) and dementia, it's time to find a more brain-friendly swap. Fortunately Annie Fenn, MD, always ahead of the curve, explored the idea of a more neuroprotective charcuterie selection on her Brain Healthy Kitchen Substack nearly a year ago (link in comments). Here are some of her must-haves for a festive party tray that sticks to MIND & Mediterranean diet guidelines: Blackberries, cherries, strawberries Raw, roasted, and pickled veggies Hummus or white bean dip Sturdy, whole grain crackers (with few ingredients) Fresh nuts Olives Tinned fish packed in olive oil Cheese (sparingly)

Pssst, Gen Xers and older Millennials, got a sec? The years between 40 and 65 are kind of a big deal for your brain. A recent review published in Trends in Neurosciences found: * There are linear and non-linear brain changes in this window that may pave the way for your cognitive health as an older adult. * You're likely to experience pivotal life changes that can impact brain aging (caring for children or aging parents, retirement). * Your brain health is affected by the way your other systems age (especially your cardiovascular system). The authors, from University College Cork, raise some important questions to those in the field, noting that more research is needed to find out if interventions being tested in older adults could prevent cognitive decline if started in middle age. And it's also a rallying cry for those of us in midlife to consider how we want to grow older. In recent years, we’ve learned so much about how important modifiable risk factors are to longevity and cognition, and our 40s, 50s, and 60s are the perfect time to build healthier habits that will serve our brains well as we age. So today, on World Brain Day, let's review some of these best practices to protect thinking and memory! 🧠 Get blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol levels under control. 🧠 Ditch bad habits like smoking, drinking, and eating too much processed food. 🧠 Sort out your sleep (not too little, not too much), try different approaches to manage stress (find what works best for you), and make more time to connect with friends and loved ones (staying social is crucial). 🧠 Stay physically active. 🧠 Eat more plants (especially greens, berries, beans, and nuts), and pour on the EVOO. 🧠 Keep your mind challenged with stimulating work, hobbies you love, and learning new things. 🧠 Prioritize your hearing. Wear earplugs at concerts and other noisy environments, don't blast your AirPods, and get hearing aids if you need them. 🧠 Pay attention to emotional health. Seek help for depression and anxiety. 🧠 And, if you're in the menopause transition, talk to your doctor about ways to manage symptoms, or connect with clinicians at our partner Midi Health, who can give you Neurotrack’s screening to check on brain fog and help you manage it. More info in comments. #brainhealth #healthtech #genx #millennials
