Project Spotlight: A quick check-in with NGi Project Manager, Kendall Duimstra who gave us a sneak peek of our progress at the Scripps Pitzer Science Center located on the Claremont McKenna College campus. NGi Scope: Exterior consists of full steel stud mansard roof and exterior wall framing, sheathing, liquid applied air barrier, lath, smooth acrylic plaster, GFRC shapes, direct applied finish at roof areas. Interior scope includes two floors of interior framing, drywall, taping, and caulking buildout which provide housing for labs; some drywall ceilings and shade soffits with an exposed deck scenario with K-13 spray and insulation. Congratulations to the C3C team at SFO (Nor Cal Branch) for completing their tier 4 lean certification. This team, lead by foreman Antonio Moreno, has excelled at their lean journey. Tone plans out their work, he keeps them all organized, he is cutting down on waste, and he treats his team with respect. On June 25th, NGI hosted a lively discussion on unconscious and intra-gender bias, highlighting the challenges women face when competing for recognition and promotion opportunities in construction. The event offered insights on how women can actively support each other as champions and advocates. A diverse panel featuring both men and women provided perspectives from both field and office roles. The interactive audience engagement shared real-world examples of the harmful impact of intra-gender bias and revealed practical solutions for participants to bring back to their organizations to help overcome bias in the industry. #womeninconstruction #ngi #nevellgroup #womensupportingwomen
