At NBU, we are planning for the future to ensure our community and customers have the reliable resources we all depend on.   This week's ribbon cutting celebrated the successful integration of 8,000 acre-feet of water from the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer into our supply portfolio. Projects this big don’t happen overnight. The agreement to add 16% of our total water supply started with a purchase agreement in 2018. This integration is an example of our forward-thinking approach to water management in collaboration with the Alliance Regional Water Authority (ARWA) and the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA).   Why does this matter? Diversifying our water sources strengthens our drought resilience, reduces reliance on the Edwards Aquifer, and positions New Braunfels for sustainable growth.
