Training America's Workforce
About us
Mission: New Century Careers is a nonprofit manufacturer and technical skills development organization serving the Southwestern PA community through inclusive access to technical training opportunities while helping employers find and develop technicians seeking purpose, passion and success in the workplace. New Century Careers was established as a nonprofit organization in 1999. Since then, New Century Careers has strived to grow the skills of Southwestern Pennsylvania's manufacturing workforce. President and CEO Neil Ashbaugh leads the New Century Careers team in collaborating with local manufacturers, four local Workforce Investment Boards in nine counties, state agencies such as CareerLink, and many supportive organizations to shed light on the opportunities that manufacturing provides for the people of our communities. Local manufacturers understand the difficulty in finding motivated, trainable employees. The need for a highly skilled workforce has formed the foundation of the organization. New Century Careers seeks to improve the lives of individuals through the development of skills that lead to quality family wage jobs and careers. A critical component of the New Century Careers formula is strong relationships with regional manufacturers. New Century Careers has partnered with more than 90 employers. As a partner company, manufacturers have the opportunity to speak with a collective voice about the importance of training and workforce development in the region, and help to shape the workforce of tomorrow.

Attention Western Pennsylvania Manufacturers. Penn State Launches Microcredential Initiative for Manufacturing Companies Penn State College of Engineering Penn State is excited to announce its latest initiative targeting manufacturing companies through a microcredential program. This effort aims to provide specialized training and development opportunities tailored to the needs of the manufacturing sector. Here's what they are asking you to... Call to Action: 1. Survey Participation: We invite manufacturing organizations to complete a short survey(https://lnkd.in/ey23VUwf) to explore the potential of microcredentials as a training and development tool. Your feedback will be invaluable in shaping our program to better meet industry needs. No solicitation from completing this survey. 2. Company Interviews: During our visit to Pittsburgh, we are looking to connect with companies willing to participate in interviews for our course content. If your organization is interested in being featured, we would love to hear from you. 3. Networking Event Interest: We are also in the process of identifying companies interested in a networking event planned for next year to connect you with the students who have completed our courses. If you are interested in participating, please fill out this short survey and we will be in touch at a later date with more details. For interest in #2 and 3 above, please complete this form (https://lnkd.in/dJhBdUs...) and we will follow up. Filling out the form does not require you to participate in anything, but will allow us to get you more information as we continue to develop the program (i.e. website, specific course content, networking, etc.)
