It's officially 80 days to Black Friday. Are you expecting to grow or shrink your brand this holiday season? Jk, I know the answer to that question. Since you all need to grow your businesses, you need to be thinking about REACH and you need to be thinking about it now. I think this is obvious to most people at this point, but a few reminders on why reach matters: - Most people don't know about your brand or think about your brand - you need to constantly work to stay top of mind - Data proves that the FIRST ad touch point has the highest marginal return I looked at 2023 data for a sample of brands in Meta and a few things jumped out: 1. The cost to reach 1000 people will DOUBLE between now and November 2. November was the LOWEST month of the year for "new" reach (in aggregate) I see a lot of brands crossing their fingers, trimming budgets and hoping that November will save their year. That is counterproductive. There is a LOT you can be doing between now and 11/29/24. You need to be focused on establishing yourself in the minds of prospective customers now. You should specifically be focused on reaching NEW people, as opposed to the same 5, 10, 25 million people you have reached this year. A few immediate actions you can take: - Pull monthly reach across your accounts - if it's not growing, act. - Request a rolling reach report from your Meta rep - this will tell you how much of your reach is NEW every month. See above, and act. - Launch a plan to scale reach (effectively) ASAP - you cannot, of course, blast non-distinct and forgettable creative. If you are worried about attention, focus your optimizations on something like watch time. Happy reaching! New Engen, Inc.
