Driver Spotlight: Legend Transportation Inc. Meet Richard Sears, one of our exceptional drivers who has been a part of the Legend Transportation family since 2016. Richard's journey into the world of trucking began in 2013, but his love for freedom and adventure started long before that. Growing up in a big family with a huge backyard, trampoline, and swimming pool, Richard developed a passion for exploration. He and his friends spent countless hours outdoors, riding bikes and creating adventures, which naturally instilled in him a deep appreciation for the open road. Before joining the transportation industry, Richard explored various careers, including working as a chef and farmer. He even cycled across the country, riding thousands of miles while always being passed by semi-trucks. Along the way, he met several truck drivers who introduced him to the world of trucking, and he quickly realized how well it aligned with his adventurous spirit. In the summer of 2022, Richard took time off to hike 1,000 miles along the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail—a lifelong dream. His dedication to staying active doesn’t stop there. Even on the road, Richard maintains a healthy, active lifestyle, with a fitness trampoline and yoga trapeze inside his truck. Richard appreciates Legend's focus on the essentials and the company's ability to adapt with grace to changing circumstances. He values the work-life balance he’s been able to achieve as a driver, using split sleeper rules creatively to enjoy daylight hours and even having his loyal dog by his side for companionship. As Richard puts it, “I’m grateful for the times when the workplace reflects basic human dignity, and I wish everyone here continued success.
