Amidst a crisis, New Mexico business, labor, and legislative leaders came together to pass comprehensive workers’ compensation reform. More than 30 years later, the New Mexico Workers’ Compensation Act still stands as an exemplary legislative accomplishment. We traveled back in time to revisit this accomplishment and met with legislative leaders, independent agents, and key decision makers that helped lead this reform. We wanted to better understand and preserve the history, which in turn led us to a creating this video.
