📣⚠️ CHANGES TO FAN ENERGY REGULATIONS! 📣⚠️ In the early development stages of the California Energy Commission's Title 20 Regulation and the Department of Energy's Test Procedure, it was unclear if the two entities would align in their separate rulings. However, as of September of 2024, the CEC Title 20 Regulation is mostly aligned with the DOE Test Procedure. There are three major items of note based on this recent development. 1. Radial housed unshrouded fans less than 30" in diameter or less than 3" in blade width are exempt from the CEC Title 20 Regulation. 2. The exemption for mobile applications has been refined to transport refrigeration which is significantly more limited in scope than originally assumed. 3. The Air Movement and Control Association's (AMCA) Test Procedure for Calculating Fan Energy Index (FEI) for Commercial and Industrial Fans and Blowers (AMCA Publication 214) which defines embedded fans is no longer specifically referenced in the regulation. While there is still an exemption for fans and blowers in manufactured assemblies that include functions other than air movement, now the fan or blower must only be available as part of this assembly, and it cannot be available elsewhere in the marketplace. While the DOE Energy Conservation Standard has yet to be finalized and made public, this development is expected toward the end of this calendar year. 📢 Join us for our upcoming webinar on "Fan Fundamentals - Level 2, Module 2 | Fan Noise", presented by Doug Jones! 📅 Wednesday, October 23rd 🕐 1:00pm CDT 👉 Register here: https://bit.ly/3BBlkaI The purpose of this presentation is to educate industry professionals on fan noise fundamentals so they can develop a basic understanding the noise characteristics of different fan types, installation impact, and best practice during selection. 📝 At the end of this presentation, you will be able to: • Describe the calculation procedure for overall sound and frequency weighting. • Scale sound data to alternate operating conditions. • Adjust sound data to account for fan configuration in the field. • Use blade pass frequency and its first harmonic as design criteria in fan selection. • Identify sound attenuation options to mitigate noise concerns. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enhance your knowledge! We look forward to seeing you there!

The trusted team in mining ventilation fans! 😎
“Over the years, we have produced countless ventilation fans with varying requirements for the mining industry. We employ Computer Aided Design (CAD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and a variety of other tools to ensure consistent and reliable performance no matter how unusual the air-movement requirement may be,” said Josh Tilley, AirEng Engineering Manager. Check out the editorial in this month's Australian Mining Review and discover how AirEng has become the trusted team in mining ventilation fans over the last 30 years. 📰 https://loom.ly/JhA0V-s #aireng #supportlocal #industrialfans #manufacturing #australianmade #australianmanufacturing #engineering #industrialengineering #engineeringlife #engineeringdesign #manufacturingplant #wesellsolutions #fan #industrial #localbusiness #locallymade #localproduct #design #melbourneindustrialfans #australianmadefans #bayswatermanufacturing #fansinmelbourne
