The New York Health Plan was thrilled be at the EmblemHealth launch of its new Community Diabetes Wellness Program at its Neighborhood Care Fordham Road location in the Bronx. Also great to see Senate Health Committee chair Gustavo Rivera, Bronx Boro President Vanessa L. Gibson and Governor Kathy Hochul's Bronx representative Fidel Malena there too. The new program provides a comprehensive approach to help keep people with prediabetes from progressing into diabetes and help those with diabetes to manage their chronic condition.

New York HPA member plans continue to be good community partners to further the efforts of improving health care across the state. MVP Health Care's collaboration with Whitney Young is a great example of this.
Today, we were proud to stand with Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center and Albany County, NY as we announced a $375,000 donation to support the construction of their new pediatric and family medicine pods. The new space will play a pivotal role in supporting children and families in the Capital region by offering routine check-ups, mental and behavioral health services, urgent care options, preventative medicine, and more! “By investing in Whitney Young Health’s new pediatric health pod and family medicine pod, we are contributing to a health care system that is more responsive, equitable, and capable of meeting the evolving needs of the communities we serve,” said MVP Health Care’s president, Richard Dal Col, MD, MPH. “The new space represents the power of local collaboration and a shared vision for a healthier Capital Region. Together, we are not only opening a new facility, but we are making access to health care a gateway to a brighter future for children and families.” We know that the updates to the building will reduce barriers to care, improve access, and contribute to better health outcomes for all.
