As we continue to celebrate #NationalDriveElectricWeek, we spoke with a few members of NYPA’s #eMobility team to get their thoughts on electric vehicles (EVs) and learn a few interesting facts as well. Let’s find out what they had to say!

NYPA is the nation's largest state power organization, serving government, not-for-profit, and business customers.
About us
The New York Power Authority is the nation's largest state public power organization, with 16 generating facilities and more than 1,400 circuit-miles of transmission lines. More than 70 percent of the electricity we produce is clean renewable hydropower. NYPA is a leader in promoting energy efficiency, new energy technologies and electric transportation initiatives. Our lower-cost power production and electricity purchases support hundreds of thousands of jobs throughout the state. Our business customers range from Fortune 100 giants competing in international markets to small manufacturing or service firms that are vital to local economies. We sell power to government agencies; to community-owned electric systems and rural electric cooperatives; to job-producing companies; to private utilities for resale—without profit—to their customers; and to neighboring states, under federal requirements. #ClimateWeek may be over, but the conversation still continues! As we're now in #NationalDriveElectricWeek, transportation accounts for a large percentage of #NewYorkState's greenhouse gas emissions. Our multi-pronged approach is helping make the transition to EVs a reality. Working with the NYS Department of Transportation, we’re leveraging up to $15.83M in National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) funds from the Federal Highway Administration to install #EVolveNY charging stations in more than 20 locations around the state, with most of the sites targeted to be open in 2024 and 2025. NYPA has also led the installation of charging systems for the state’s largest electrified bus depot in Buffalo and is building fast chargers for the MTA to help electrify the nation’s largest public bus fleet. #ClimateWeekNYC #NDEW2024 #NDEW24

We worked with The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey on the installation of new #EV charging infrastructure as they transition to all-electric ground service equipment. This charging infrastructure for electric fleet vehicles at the Delta Air Lines terminal at JFK Airport is another advancement that will help decarbonize #NewYork’s busiest airport. #ClimateWeekNYC https://lnkd.in/eJVHKdyB
