"If you can understand the distinction between diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the strategies and tactics that go along with it, then what comes out on the other end is actually just innovative approaches to engaging people who may not have been deeply engaged or aware." - Dr. J Whenever Dr. Juhanna Rogers, PhD speaks, I make it a point to stop whatever I'm doing and listen. We're incredibly fortunate to have her as a regular contributor to the New York State Economic Development Council (NYSEDC) Basic Economic Development Course. CCIDA congratulates our partners at the Clinton County Legislature, TDC and The Town of Plattsburgh on the completion and grand opening of the Clinton County Business Innovation Gateway (CBIG)! This project, which built a fully infrastructured road and opens up 135 acres of developable land, represents a major leap forward in creating opportunities for economic growth, job creation, and innovation in our community. We are especially grateful to all our federal, state, and business partners who helped secure critical funding through the FAST-NY program at Empire State Development (ESD) the U.S. Economic Development Administration, & the Northern Border Regional Commission. A special thanks to Assemblyman D. Billy Jones, ESD Regional Director Stephen Hunt, District Director for Congresswoman Elise Stefanik Jonathan D. Carman and the North Country Chamber of Commerce VP for Strategic Initiatives Joel Wood for not only delivering insightful remarks today, but for their staunch advocacy throughout the culmination of this visionary infrastructure project. OpenAI Is Putting Down Office Roots in New York OpenAI is leasing its first office in New York City, raising property owners’ hopes that the budding artificial-intelligence industry will develop a bigger appetite for office space. The maker of ChatGPT reached an agreement this month to rent 90,000 square feet in Manhattan’s landmark Puck Building in the trendy Soho neighborhood, according to people familiar with the matter. “AI isn’t going to be a silver bullet [for the office market,]” said Jacob Rowden, head of office research for JLL, a commercial real-estate services firm. “But it’s part of the broader recovery story.” https://lnkd.in/eBt-2PYT
