It was awesome having you on the team this summer Andy Ngegba! All of us wish you the best in your future endeavors!
🌞 Summer 2024 Internship at Pure Source Renewables 🌞 This summer (June - August), I had the incredible opportunity to intern with Pure Source Renewables, a commercial solar installation and electrical contracting firm, and a subsidiary of New Columbia Solar. My role on the commercial solar installation team allowed me to actively contribute to installing, commissioning, and maintaining multiple commercial solar projects across Washington D.C., and Maryland, enhancing my hands-on skills and experience in solar photovoltaic systems. 🔧 Throughout the internship, I worked on twelve projects of varying sizes, ranging from 90kW roof-mounted systems to 510kW ground-mounted system. This experience significantly improved my skills in installing solar panels using different types of PV racking, and in configuring and commissioning solar inverters. Additionally, I gained a deep understanding of power optimizers, including their working principles and their effects on the productivity of solar arrays. 🏆 I also had the opportunity to receive training in solar PV system design, installations, and workplace safety, which complemented my practical experience in the field. During the internship, I obtained the following certifications from OSHAcademy Safety and Health Training and SolarEdge Technologies: OSHA10: 10-Hour Construction Safety & Health SolarEdge Fundamentals Training SolarEdge Certified Commercial Installer SolarEdge Certified Commercial Designer SolarEdge Home Battery Certification SolarEdge Home Hub Technical Essentials This hands-on experience has been invaluable as I pursue my MSc in Engineering Management at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. I’m excited to apply the skills and knowledge I’ve gained to future endeavors in the solar energy industry. Thanks to Mason Holmes, New Columbia Solar, for this opportunity. I appreciate the work of the UMBC Career Center, in making this possible, the mentorship of Toby Gouker, PhD, CHISL, GSLC, CISM, CPEM, Jason Stremmel, and Karen Falkler. #Internship #RenewableEnergy #SolarPower #EngineeringManagement #SolarInstallation #ProfessionalGrowth
