"Met" Spot the robot from Boston Dynamics yesterday at the TechServe Alliance conference. It is pretty cool, but I was also relieved. Robots are still far from replacing us if Spot is an indicator of current technology. Robots will work with people.

Job seekers ask me what they should do if they do not have experience in a skill hiring managers want. The answer: get certified in it or trained in it by an institute. Putting something down about that skill on your resume is much better than putting nothing. Then you can discuss the topic with Hiring Managers during interviews, too.

This post is meant for all the candidates emailing us and panicking. They have been searching for a role between two and fifteen months with no luck. What they forget is that this is not their first rodeo. Many have had successful positions before and found roles in recessions before. This time is no different. Have faith.

The data on the employment rate that came out on April 5th, 2024 was worse than I thought: https://lnkd.in/e_6xvDWG I did not notice that out of the 303,000 jobs gained in March 2024, 71,000 jobs gained were in government. About 23% This means the economy is not growing if the government has to come in to employ people. Another reason I believe we are in an Employer's Market right now.
