Today is #NationalInternDay! This year, we were excited to welcome 46 students from 25 colleges across the U.S. and Canada to Newell Brands’ Career Acceleration and Mentorship Program (CAMP). We spoke to some of them about their experience so far. 💼 “My project, which is doing research for a potential product line expansion, has been very fulfilling and exciting to work on. It has allowed me to dip my toe into all the most important parts of working on a brand team. From working cross-functionally with Consumer & Shopper Insights, Marketing Analytics, and Sales Planning to coming up with campaign ideas with fellow members of the Brand Activation team, I have gotten a chance to see many different sides of the business and how they all work together to deliver our products to consumers,” said Alyson Staley, Brand Management Intern from Indiana University. 📈 “You couldn't possibly make me choose only one highlight from my internship. During my third week here, I had the chance to present CoPilot for PowerBI findings to the Information Delivery Team’s Vice President. It was the first moment of my life where I saw how my work could have an impact. I then had the opportunity to contact leaders from Microsoft to ask questions, which showed me how many resources my team was willing to provide. It didn't stop from there; with my managers' help, I created a CoPilot collaboration group to present my analyses to some of the most prominent members of IDT. Now, I'm getting a chance to share my findings with Newell's AI Community. I'm incredibly grateful for all that I've gotten to experience so far,” shared Arya Devkota, Information Delivery Analytics & AI Intern from Georgia State University. For the tenth consecutive year, Newell Brands and its Charitable Foundation proudly returned as sponsors to the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) Back-to-School Bash. In collaboration with The Empty Stocking Fund, Inc., and with the support of employee volunteers and donations from our brands, we provided monetary support and over 350,000 units of essential school supplies to fill backpacks for over 5,000 APS students. Earlier this year, we launched the Sharpie® Creative Marker, which features paint-like ink that won't bleed through paper. The product was informed by research our Consumer & Shopper Insights (CSI) team conducted about “Creative Enthusiasts” and their challenges with existing products. To create a marker that helps break down those barriers, CSI partnered with the Sharpie team, our Writing Research & Development team and other cross-functional teams to craft a new and innovative tool that makes a bold statement on a variety of surfaces whenever inspiration strikes. Cheadle, U.K.- based members of our Design team were recently honored with two product design Red Dots for their work on innovations from Breville®. The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s largest design competitions and most sought-after marks of quality. The Breville Edge Series, consisting of a kettle and toaster, modernizes mid-century design principles. It features clean lines with soft curves executed in chrome. A high-gloss base enhances its look and insulates the worktop. The kettle also generates 75 percent less steam, which benefits small spaces. Red Dot Design Awards judges complimented the line’s minimalist, retro aesthetics and impressive functionality. The Breville Barista Signature espresso machine combines formal elegance with user-friendly design. It has an adjustable grinder, precise dosing for one or two cups of espresso, a convenient swiveling milk frother, and an integrated cup warmer.
