🔋⚡ New Jersey’s electric vehicle adoption is on the rise! As of December 2024, there were 218,631 registered EVs in the state—a 42% increase from 2023! EVs now make up 2.97% of all vehicle registrations and an impressive 13.56% of new car sales.    In 2013, New Jersey was one of 10 states that signed a memorandum of understanding to collectively put 3.3 million electric vehicles on the road by 2025. According to analysis by the Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management (NESCAUM),  as of December 31, 2024, that milestone has officially been reached, marking a major milestone for the adoption of clean transportation.    Want to explore more EV stats? 🎉 DEP opened Women’s History Month with a lively 🔥 “fireside chat” featuring Kandyce Perry, Director of our Office of Environmental Justice, who led the discussion with Kelley Heck, MPAP, DEP’s Chief Communications Officer, and Shereyl Snider, of the East Trenton Collaborative and Lead-Free NJ. ♀️ The March 5 celebration, at DEP’s Trenton headquarters, centered on the theme of “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating and Inspiring Generations” and the conversation focused on the participants’ HERstories – their career paths, the women who influenced them and how they remain inspired every day. 🎤 DEP colleagues also heard remarks from DEP Chief Strategy Officer Kati Angarone and a presentation on Rachel Carson’s contributions to environmental science. ✨ The annual event was hosted by DEP’s Club for Resources and Empowerment of Women (CREW) employee resource group and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. #WomensHistoryMonth #HerStory
