NewLimit is a biotechnology company working to extend human healthspan by developing epigenetic reprogramming therapies.
About us
NewLimit is a biotechnology company working to radically extend human healthspan. We’re developing medicines to treat age-related diseases by reprogramming the epigenome, a new therapeutic mechanism to restore regenerative potential in aged and diseased cells. We leverage functional genomics, pooled perturbation screening, and machine learning models to unravel the biology of epigenetic aging and disease using experiments of unprecedented scale.

Excited to share some updates from late summer at NewLimit. We've completed our first phenotypic to functional testing cycle and continued driving our Discovery Engine. A few highlights: - +2500 TF sets tested for their effect on cell age - +20 TF sets that reverse phenotypic age in T cells - 2X faster reprogramming library builds - 0 -> 3 hits with preliminary fxn effects in T cells - +3 fxn assays for hepatocyte age - +4 colleagues https://lnkd.in/gfXMBgtq

Updates from the early summer months at NewLimit: We reprogrammed old, human cells to look younger based on their genomic profiles. Now we need to make them act younger based on their function. We've made progress on building the tools to measure these functional improvments. Highlights by the numbers (quarter/quarter): - 2X lower cost per TF set we test - 1.5X the # of TF sets that reverse phenotypic age in real, human cells - +4 functional assays for hepatocytes, +1 for T cells - +3 team members All in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/gT9bDDVb

We're excited to share that Markus Grompe, M.D. has joined our Scientific Advisory Board to guide our hepatic metabolism program at NewLimit! Markus' work has provided much of the foundational knowledge and technology critical for our program to reverse the metabolic decline that comes with age. In addition to his scientific accomplishments, Markus brings a unique perspective to our SAB as a serial biotech founder. We look forward to working with him for years to come.

We shared our annual Progress Update at NewLimit last week. We've been moving quickly to develop medicines that restore youthful function in old cells by partial reprogramming, and we're excited to share some of the discoveries we've made along the way. Tune in to check out a few highlights: - Tested 200X more sets of partial reprogramming factors than the field (that we know of) - Cut the cost of our reprogramming screens by >3X, reduced cycle times by 2X - Built performant models to measure cell age from cell genomics profiles - Discovered >20 reprogramming factor sets that restore youthful phenotypes in old cells - Found that many effects of partial reprogramming are durable - Developed 7 functional assays, added 1 therapeutic program, and found our first age-discriminating functional approaches https://lnkd.in/gh6G5Vrf Our cast includes: Brian Armstrong, Burak Dura, Gregory Johnson, John Leonard, Blake Byers, & myself We're always looking to bring talented scientists & engineers onto our team. Please reach out if any of our open roles are exciting to you or a colleague!
