Was sober-curious just a passing trend? Not for Gen Z. New research from NielsenIQ shows that 30% over 18 to 24-year-olds say they drink less than they did a year ago, with 13% abstaining completely. The main driver is a desire to pursue a healthy lifestyle. Are employers heading towards the Great Detachment when it comes to their employees? Employee disengagement is proving a major challenge, costing employers $8 trillion globally. But it’s not simply a question of disinterest, Gen Z have different expectations towards the workplace compared to previous generations. Our research shows that 60% of Gen Z agree that work doesn’t need to be fulfilling; it needs to enable fulfillment in other areas of life. They also expect more from their employers, with 21% willing to consider other jobs if the employer is not engaged with social issues.
