Tether.io just invested $100 Million USD to buy agricultural land. There are broader implications of this on the overall blockchain industry, but to summarise where market trends are going: 1) Real-world assets and businesses are being fractionalized, brought on-chain, and sold to a global community of investors, with yield paid out based on token holdings 2) Fewer market players will exist in this arena due to a lack of licensing and an absence of cross-jurisdictional policy harmonization 3) Investor bets on early-stage tokenized projects that are not asset-backed are becoming fewer 4) Much more is required by way of regulatory clarity regarding securitization vehicles and methods and proving real-world ownership, not just denoting it on-chain (the purist argument!) My quick analysis in the article here and what the broader implications are for the #RWA industry.
