Public Policy | Strategic Communications | Building Constituent Relationships through Public Engagement & Community Outreach
Dismantling barriers and obstacles to fair representative democracy is crucial for our future. Next Up Action Fund embraces that challenge and demystifies the belief of what politics is and who can participate by championing causes that make civic engagement inclusive and accessible. It’s exciting to see that Portland residents might have the opportunity to decide up to 2% of the city’s $7billion annual budget through participatory budgeting and that Next Up Action Fund is a chief petitioner of getting this on the 2024 ballot! Next Up Action Fund will be hosting signature gathering events this weekend and learning opportunities to provide Portland residents with all the training, resources, and support to help gather enough signatures to qualify for the 2024 ballot. To learn more about these engagement opportunities visit, https://lnkd.in/gR7at9sJ *views and opinions are my own.

We love this! Thanks for coming Chloe!
On Monday, I attended Next Up’s Youth Lobby Day 🎉 This brought youth together to lobby Oregon legislators. Young people deserve a future with stability, opportunity and freedom to thrive. The bills below are apart of Next Up’s Youth Power Agenda which are our priorities this session. Yes on HB4070 (school-based health centers) Yes on SB1530 (rent assistance & stable homes) Yes on HB4083 (divestment from coal) Yes on HB1462 (emergency needs for college students) No on HB4002 (would re-criminalize drugs) Yes on SB1583 (ending book bans) As someone who went to high school in a rural small town, I know firsthand the positive impacts of school based health centers. I dedicated my time to speak with legislators about the importance in passing HB4070. HB4070 is known as the School Health Crisis Response Act. This bill would fund school health supports statewide and prevent future crisies. I had the opportunity to meet with Representative Dacia Grayber, Representative Janelle Bynum, Representative Lisa Reynolds, and Senator Kayse Jama. I also spoke with members of Representative Ben Bowman and Senate President Rob Wagner’s staff. 1. Group photo of Lobby Day Participants 2. Representative Dacia Grayber 3.
