🚀 New on the Scope Forward Show! This interview is something truly unique. Maya, an AI avatar, takes the lead, asking thought-provoking questions about my new book, "The Shift". Together, we explore the future of gastroenterology and healthcare, discussing why this book matters and why now is the time for this conversation. The most intriguing part? By the end of the interview, what initially feels unconventional—an AI conducting an interview—will feel completely natural. And that’s how this shift is going to happen: so subtly that it'll seem like it's always been this way. I’m excited for you to experience this fun conversation—a glimpse into a future already unfolding before us. Let me know what you think. Here's where to get the book: https://lnkd.in/dcuw4_8P. #scopeforward #theshift #gimastermind Happy Deepavali to those celebrating! May your year be filled with light and inspiration.

What if the future is already here and you haven't noticed it yet?

We often look for ideas outside of our surroundings. But what if an industry defining venture is staring at you right now, wherever you are? All it requires is for you to boldly take action. Just as Erica did. During her undergraduate research at Cornell University, Erica Barnell was involved in diagnosing environmental enteropathy in children in Africa—a silent gut inflammation that leads to growth faltering. Traditional diagnostic methods weren't feasible due to limited resources, so mothers sent their children's diapers for analysis. Erica and her team developed a groundbreaking technique to isolate human cells from the diapers, analyze the transcriptome, and identify affected children for timely intervention. This innovative approach sparked a pivotal question for Erica: Why not apply this non-invasive technology in the U.S. for conditions like colon cancer, IBD, IBS, and celiac disease? Encouraged by her principal investigator but realizing he wouldn't pursue it himself, she decided to take the initiative. Upon entering an MD-PhD program, Erica Barnell pulled the technology out of the university and founded Geneoscopy. Starting with $6.9 million before the pandemic, the company went on to raise $105 million in 2021 to develop and enhance its non-invasive RNA screening test. As of my interview, the company was raising another $100 million. That's how it happens. Stop stopping yourself and take action. ** Thank you Erica Barnell for these words below and the work you do. Be the first to know: https://lnkd.in/duBvpfTA.
