As we transition into the fall and winter months, several changes in energy production dynamics come into play. Cooler temperatures can enhance the efficiency of solar panels, allowing them to generate more electricity as their performance improves in these conditions. In addition, this change in season often brings shifts in wind patterns, with many regions experiencing increased wind speeds, which can significantly boost wind energy production. A new poll from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Texas Association of Business reveals that more than 80% of Texans want lawmakers to maintain a level playing field and let solar complete with oil and gas. This strong public support underscores solar's role in creating jobs, reducing electricity costs, and fostering a sustainable future for Texas. “Texas officials who hinder solar development are out of step with what voters want: more solar,” said Abigail Ross Hopper, president and CEO of SEIA. “The Texas solar industry is continuing the state’s rich legacy as an energy leader, and the state’s economy and electric grid are stronger because of it.” At National Grid Renewables, we’re proud to contribute to this movement, with 695 megawatts of clean solar energy produced in Texas across the Blevins, Copperhead, and Noble Solar & Storage Projects.
