For 30 years, we have been dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children in Rhode Island. We are happy to partner with Providence Community Health Centers in making exercise safer and more accessible for children. When we work together, our community becomes healthier and happier.
Dr. Jon Dooley has spearheaded a program at Providence Community Health Centers to get bike helmets on the heads of young patients – with the goal of reducing injuries and increasing activity. Thanks to the generosity of Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, the program has thus far distributed more than 200 helmets. A pediatrician at our Chafee Health Center, Dr. Dooley said many young people struggle with obesity, which gives the program two goals: increase the amount of time children spend on their bike or scooter and ensure they are doing so safely. Dr. Dooley will be looking to replicate the program, which focused on patients at our Chafee Health Center, on a larger scale next year. Thanks to Dr. Dooley for initiating this effort to build healthier habits in children and to Neighborhood for supporting this effort.

Congratulations to our CEO Peter Marino for receiving the Outstanding Achievement in Leadership award from RIBBA!
RIBBA is thrilled to announce that Peter Marino is the recipient of the Outstanding Achievement in Leadership Award! 🎉 As President & CEO of Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island since September 2014, Peter has led the organization through remarkable growth and impact. Under his leadership, Neighborhood Health Plan has become a vital resource for one in five Rhode Islanders, with 650 employees and $1.6 billion in revenue. The plan is the state’s largest Medicaid health plan, the only Medicare-Medicaid demonstration health plan, and the largest marketplace individual health plan. Peter's influence extends beyond his role at Neighborhood Health Plan. He chairs the board of directors for the Rhode Island Quality Institute and serves on the boards of several prominent organizations, including the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and Amica Insurance. His advocacy for Rhode Island’s community health centers and his involvement with national associations demonstrate his unwavering commitment to local and statewide healthcare excellence. We celebrate Peter for his outstanding leadership and his impact on the health and well-being of our community. ✨ 📅 Don’t miss out! Secure your tickets: https://lnkd.in/eUYW2sRB ➡ Can't attend?
