About us
“Nimitt” means catalyst, renewal, or progress. Our mission is to ensure that providers can care for their patients in the best way possible. We do this by improving coverage, coding, billing, and reimbursement across all payers. Our deep knowledge and expertise about Medicare’s complex and ever-changing payment systems makes us uniquely qualified to provide education and information to a wide range of stakeholders ranging from providers on a daily basis to other stakeholders seeking to bring novel therapies to market. We help resolve operational and financial barriers so patients get the care they need in a timely manner, while providers receive complete and accurate reimbursement. Nimitt works with many health care stakeholders to remove barriers to access, including individual providers, advocacy organizations, specialty societies, payers, industry, and the government. Specific offerings include conducting end-to-end provider reviews in oncology, stem cell transplant, and cell and gene therapy, analyzing large data sets, creating coding and reimbursement roadmaps, obtaining new codes and reimbursement designations, and supporting market access initiatives across a broad range of clinical areas. With the majority of Medicare beneficiaries now enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans, we need access to MA data in the same way that stakeholders access Medicare fee-for-service data. This will enable analyses to occur, which is crucial since MA claims are not used in Medicare rate-setting and the impact of this unknown! We at Nimitt Consulting see this as a major opportunity for improved policy-making – please read to understand this issue and submit comments to CMS before May 29. **Edit: Use the following link to submit comments to CMS: https://lnkd.in/dE8YUi4x

Nimitt Consulting's mission is to be a change agent and ensure that providers can care for their patients in the best way possible. One step forward is CMMI’s Cell and Gene Therapy Access Model, which is aimed at improving Medicaid beneficiaries’ access to transformative gene therapies for Sickle Cell Disease. However, unless the Model addresses provider enrollment requirements for out-of-state Medicaid programs, insurmountable barriers will still hamper Medicaid beneficiaries' access to these therapies when needed outside of their home state. With a start date set in 2025, we urge CMMI to pilot a solution to address this problem as part of the Model. Please join us by reading this piece, sharing it with your colleagues, and advocating for a change. As always, we welcome your comments and stay tuned for more on this topic! #medicaid #patientaccess #cellandgenetherapies #cmmi
