Help us welcome the new Amazon Understory Artists in Residence, John Smither and Elise Wulff, by visiting them underneath the Seattle Spheres now through October 5th! Contribute to their collaborative, upcycled tree sculpture by creating your own foliage out of cardboard and paint. Your contributions will be added to the tree and photographed for inclusion in a dynamic mixed-media component of the sculpture. Understory hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10am-6pm PT. John Smither will be on-site on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 1-5pm PT. Elise Wulff will be on-site on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3-6pm PT. In addition to progressing the installation, both artists will be further developing their practice during the Residency and will have artwork on display for visitors to enjoy!

Thank you to the talented Teresa Grasseschi for beautifying The Piper Apartments by Quarterra Group with her captivating mural, which creates a landmark moment and peeks out through the tree line to entice those strolling the nearby Marymoor Park. Get a sneak peek at the video, captured by the wonderful BARRY JOHNSON, below! (And stay tuned for artist Leah Nguyen's large-scale mural just next door - photos coming soon!)
Two years in the making - some of my biggest and best work to date moved into the installation phase last month. Watching this video back I am so proud of the work that went into this piece - I truly believe it all shows - the rounds on rounds of design work, the continuous prep and planning for install and locking down the best install crew to paint alongside me. I am eternally grateful to NINE dot ARTS | Art Consulting and Creative Placemaking and Quarterra Group for having me and to overall creative for signing on be my right hand. Redmond's Marymoor Park area is now a bit more colorful. Before I post finals see if you can find her peeking through the tree line while you're at the dog park. #mural #art

Our NINE dot ARTS team joined 150 civic and business leaders to learn about the policies and partnerships informing Boston’s growth, from mobility and sustainability investments to youth-oriented urban design and programming, all the while respecting the ever-present challenge of adding contemporary infrastructure to a dynamic palette of historic identity and culture. Get the key takeaways from the trip and find out what Denver and other growing cities can learn from Boston in this interview with NINE dot ARTS leaders Andrea Barry and Martha McGee: https://lnkd.in/gEsZRAfV
