October 27 marks National Civics Day, celebrating the importance of civic education across America. It commemorates the first publication of the Federalist Papers on October 27, 1787, which urged American citizens to ratify the U.S. Constitution. Written by Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison under the pen name “Publius,” the series of 85 essays outlined the purpose and importance of the Constitution. Civics Champion: Patricia Houston The Richard Nixon Foundation is thrilled to announce Patricia Houston’s $500,000 pledge to the American Civics Campaign. Her gift strengthens our goal to revitalize civics education and transform the Nixon Library into a dynamic center for civics. Patricia’s journey began in the U.K., where she developed a passion for history. After moving to the U.S., she gained a deeper appreciation for American civics—especially during her citizenship process. She believes in our mission: "I truly believe that all Americans, but especially young people, need to learn more about this incredible country they live in." The Nixon Foundation’s American Civics Campaign aims to fill this educational void, ensuring that future generations understand the fundamentals of American history and civics. Support the American Civics Campaign with a gift of $5, $10, $25 or more.  Get involved: https://lnkd.in/gp5Jv2bm (Photo: Patricia with President George W. Bush at the Nixon Library in March 2024)

One year after Hamas terrorists horrifically massacred innocent civilians on October 7th, we stand firmly with our friends in Israel. We remember those lives tragically cut short and those kept hostage still today. In 1992, President Nixon said, “We have a bond to Israel that’s much stronger, it’s a moral commitment… because of what happened during the Holocaust… and because it is a democracy, the only democracy in that area…. There is no doubt whatever of our commitment to Israel.” #NeverForgetOct7

On September 25, 2024, policymakers, strategists and media influencers gathered in Washington, DC for a conference to debate and discuss America’s role in the world today, and what it can be in the future. Representatives of 41 nations and college students from schools in both California and Washington, DC joined 17 speakers to participate in the Richard Nixon Foundation’s Grand Strategy Summit. A livestream feed on both YouTube and X virtually extended the reach with as many of 6,800 people watching — at the same time. Read more on the Grand Strategy Summit here: https://lnkd.in/ebB_Vg6M
