Nearly fifty years ago, on December 16, 1974, the U.S. government passed the Safe Drinking Water Act! To recognize and celebrate the 50th anniversary, for the next 50 days, American Water will highlight how we treat and deliver high-quality and safe drinking water to customers in the communities across the nation that we are privileged to serve. American Water Vice President and Chief Environmental Officer Lynda DiMenna shares: "Reflecting on 50 years of the Safe Drinking Water Act, we are reminded of the profound impact it has had on the nation's public drinking water supply.
