Big news: 20-Year-Old Alcohol-Free Red Wine Hits the Danish Market Austrian producer Heribert Bayer is revolutionizing alcohol-free wine with the release of Zeronimo Century Blend, an alcohol-free red wine from the 2005 vintage. Only 2,005 bottles were produced, with 250 allocated to Denmark. Katja and Patrick Bayer, the winemakers, specialize in mature wines and have combined tradition with modern technology to create this extraordinary product. “Creating an alcohol-free version of our 98-point wine was already revolutionary, but by de-alcoholizing a wine aged for two decades, we’ve taken the project a step further,” says Patrick Bayer. “Mature wines have an extra dimension and complexity that wine enthusiasts value, and we believe they shouldn’t miss out, even if they consume less alcohol.” Kamilla Seidler, owner of Restaurant Lola and previously named South America’s best chef, was among the first to taste it. “I was skeptical, but this wine truly impressed me. It’s by far the best alcohol-free wine I’ve tasted. The layers and personality built over 20 years are remarkable. Every January, the spotlight turns to Dry January. It’s understandable — after the festive season, many of us feel like hitting reset and focusing on our health. And that’s great. But to me, the conversation around no & low alcohol beverages shouldn’t be limited to one month. Personally, I enjoy that flexibility. A couple of weeks ago, I was celebrating New Year’s with family and friends — enjoying wine and cocktails. Last week, I was away on a sports vacation, staying active, and non-alcoholic beers felt like the natural choice. It’s not about cutting alcohol out completely; it’s about having options that fit the occasion.
