Not only does this help our amazing Nomad team, but it also means our guests enjoy an even better experience at our safari camps—especially when it comes to the food! During the off-season, 48 of our Nomad chefs took part in a fun, week-long training program. Camp chefs from Greystoke, Chada, Sand Rivers, Lamai, Kuro, Entamanu, Walking Camps, and Serengeti Safari Camp, spent 3,624 hours learning and honing their skills. The food our chefs whip up is pretty incredible—so good, in fact, that it’s hard to believe it’s all made right in the middle of the bush. Some guests have even suggested we put together a Nomad cookbook, so they can try these mouthwatering recipes at home! Safari the Nomad way... Head into the Crater soon after dawn, first in line from Entamanu, to experience a lambent world of wildlife and the planet’s biggest unbroken volcanic crater. We are forever looking for ways to make a difference so our safaris can provide real impact on the ground. Sometimes it’s nothing more complicated than filling an empty stomach. Our meal-a-day programme provides a cup of porridge for young children at school everyday, a simple intervention that helps concentration and increases attendance. We're delighted that over the last year we've expanded the programme into new areas and schools now reaching 1,037 students across twelve schools nationwide. Recently our wonderful Projects Team, three Nomad volunteers and two drivers hit the road once again, this time heading south to the villages of Mapogoro in Tungamalenga, and Kisaki in Southern Tanzania. Our beds for meds programme uses our logistical muscle and camps to deliver vital medical services into areas of Tanzania that ordinarily, would not have access.  Over 3 days in Nyerere villages and 4 days in Ruaha villages, the medical team of nine doctors and health specialists... ✅ Treated 1,233 eye patients, restoring and improving people's eyesight. ✅ Identified 3 advanced cervical cancer cases, now referred for palliative care and chemotherapy. ✅ Detected 44 cases of malnutrition in children under 5, ensuring they receive the necessary care. ✅ Identified 58 children for Kafika House, to support those with disabilities. ✅ Educated 6,171 individuals on child disability and nutrition across 16 different facilities.
