𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 Grant writing is an art and a science. Let's explore key errors to sidestep: 🔍 Insufficient Research: Failing to thoroughly understand the funder's interests and priorities. Always align your proposal with the grantor's mission and guidelines. 📝 Ignoring Instructions: Not following application guidelines precisely. This simple oversight can disqualify even the most promising proposals. 🗣️ Overuse of Jargon: Using industry-specific terms excessively. Strive for clarity and accessibility in your language. 📊 Weak Data Presentation: Failing to support claims with solid, relevant statistics. Quantify your impact and back assertions with credible data. 💰 Budgetary Inconsistencies: Presenting budgets that don't align with the narrative or contain errors. Ensure financial projections are accurate and justified. 🎯 Lack of Clear Objectives: Failing to articulate specific, measurable goals. Use the SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) for your objectives. 📚 Overlooking the Importance of Storytelling: While data is crucial, neglecting to humanize your proposal can make it less compelling. Balance statistics with impactful narratives. 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘆: In 2023, foundation giving reached $103.53 billion. Avoiding these common mistakes can significantly increase your chances of accessing these funds. I'm so grateful to the people and organizations that transform the world in special ways by their work. This is why I love nonprofit work -- they don't do it because they get paid to do it, or because it is a requirement - they do it because they care. They care about people, they care about animals, they the planet, they care about their communities....They care. If you care about the any of these things -- or you just care -- find a nonprofit you are aligned with and give of your resources...whatever resources those might be - your time, your money, your attention, your intention. You will be part of something. Something bigger than you and beautiful.

A big breakthrough: 100,000 kg of Plastic Removed from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch! Our oceans are filled with over five trillion pieces of plastic. We've all seen the pictures: Turtles tangled in nets. Fish swimming through plastic debris. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is the largest hotspot. Fixing this crisis requires two steps: ↳ Cutting plastic use ↳ Cleaning up pollution The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit, has made a huge impact—removing 100,000 kg of plastic with brilliant technology! Floating plastics keep circulating until they break down into smaller pieces. These pieces become harder to clean and easier for sealife to mistake for food. If left to circulate, the plastic will impact our ecosystems, health, and economies for decades. To solve it, we must stop more plastic from flowing into the ocean and clean up what is already out there. Every action counts. Let's educate more people what happens with all the plastic we use in our daily lives. Follow Dr. Martha Boeckenfeld for more to learn about innovation changing our Life. . ♻️Repost to your network to learn more about technology that cleans our ocean and reminder to use less plastic.
