About us

This community organization was founded in 1998 as a pilot and then incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization in 2000. The Center serves over 500 older persons and family members annually in Edina, Minneapolis, Bloomington, and surrounding areas. The Center provides caregiver and family counseling/education along with information referrals and resource coordination. Evidence-based wellness classes and programs are planned in the community. Volunteers provide friendly visiting for older adults, visits for families with dementia, class & support group facilitation. The Center also hosts Adaptive Yoga and Tai Chi classes as well as a medical equipment loan program. The Center is guided in its work by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of experts in aging, senior housing, health care, pastoral ministry, elder law, and other fields such as business/management. Five part-time staff and many volunteers come together to serve the community. Our Mission: To "walk with" seniors in transition and their family caregivers to support health in body, mind, & spirit.
