It turns out that company management, in certain situations, can legally exaggerate product performance claims with little consequence — all in the name of marketing hype, says Rick Mihelic in his latest CCJ — Commercial Carrier Journal blog. https://lnkd.in/g-XHTGQB

Driving the development and adoption of efficiency-enhancing, environmentally beneficial, cost-effective technologies
About us
The North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE), works to drive the development and adoption of efficiency enhancing, environmentally beneficial, and cost-effective technologies, services and methodologies in the North American freight industry. An unbiased and fuel-agnostic organization, NACFE communicates the benefits, challenges and the payback of such actions, summarizing the confidence fleets should have in adoption. The Council is an effort for fleets, manufacturers, vehicle builders and other government and nongovernmental organizations coming together to improve North American goods movements. We publish a variety of unbiased reports to support the needs of truck fleets and dealerships. Confidence Reports are designed to deep dive into a subject area and present the results seen by fleets including the benefits as well as the challenges. Guidance Reports focus on new technology areas emerging into commercial vehicle transportation to show the technology growth as well as adoption hurdles. Collaboration reports can be on a wide array of areas where suppliers and industry groups have asked NACFE to work with them on a particular subject. Almost all reports are available in a short executive summary format as well as a full in depth report.

About one of every seven straight #trucks and #trailers on the road uses transport #refrigeration units to keep their #freight in a specified temperature range, says Rob Graff, CC-P, NACFE’s senior technical consultant and study lead. Most TRUs today are #diesel powered. These are increasingly subject to regulations on their #emissions — including GHGs. We’ve seen the development of low- to no-emissions TRU technologies emerging to meet these requirements. In the “messy middle” of #trucking, dealers and #fleets should consider training their #technicians on servicing other powertrain options like #CNG, #hydrogen fuel cell, hydrogen ICE and #hybrids, says Mike Roeth in this week’s FleetOwner blog. #messymiddle #RoadtoZero https://lnkd.in/g5ykfFSM
