Be the difference! from @huntersevenfoundation • 💥 URGENT NEED: Meet Army Sgt. Derrick Bishop At just 23 years old, Derrick has already served 6.5 years as an Airborne Infantryman with the legendary 82nd Airborne Division, as a member of the 505th PIR (Panther Brigade). He’s the kind of soldier who does more than is needed and carries more than his share of the burden—because that’s who he is. But now, he needs our help - Literally, his life depends on it. Recently, Derrick began suffering from relentless headaches, severe coughing fits, and episodes of vomiting. One of those episodes turned terrifying—he coughed so hard he started vomiting blood. He was rushed to the hospital and soon after received a devastating diagnosis: Aplastic Anemia. This rare and life-threatening condition means Derrick’s bone marrow is no longer producing the blood cells he needs to survive: Red cells. White cells. Platelets. All dangerously low. For someone as young, strong, and fit as Derrick, this diagnosis is life-changing—and life-threatening. But there’s hope. A BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT FROM A HEALTHY DONOR CAN SAVE HIS LIFE! 🩸 Derrick’s blood type is B+, but blood type doesn’t matter! All blood types welcome ➡️ Interested in swabbing your cheek to see if you are a match for Derrick? But not in the Bragg area? Reach out to Chad Ballance at c.ballance@dodmarrow.org and please include your name, age, location, phone number, and with “For SGT Derrick Bishop” in the subject! _________________ 📆 Local to Fort Bragg, NC? Stop by the testing drive event!! Monday, 31 March 2025, at 09:00. BLDG A-2565, 4599 Bigler Street on Fort Bragg. POC: SSG Brayden Bex, (504) 321-9347 (call or text) #BoneMarrowForBishop #AATW

This past week Doc Ethan Miles, MD had the privilege of presenting at the Deployed Medical and Healthcare Delivery in London. NAR Simulation and the TOMM also came for a demonstration. Major take homes from the conference: Increased urgency to prepare for LSCO operations in Europe. -Focusing on collaboration with European and US partners. -Stockpiling class VIII throughout Europe -Casualty flow (increasing capacity within country). -Increased military spending across the countries -Push to ensure enough blood and plasma for LSCO. -NATO model is 20% casualties will need blood and average 8 units per casualty. 1000 casualties per day=48,000 units per month!!!! #tccc #nardoctor #prehospitalmedicine

An accident can change your life in a fraction of a second. #firstresponders spend years training to give you a second chance 🫡🙏🏼 @miamidadefirerescue At 1:04 p.m., #MDFR units responded to a multi-vehicle crash on US-1 near Mile Marker 121. Four individuals were injured as a result of the accident, with one pediatric trauma alert patient requiring airlifting to a trauma center. US-1 was temporarily shut down in both directions to allow air rescue to land for patient transport. All four patients were transported to the hospital. Those in the area may experience traffic delays. We want to remind our community to avoid traveling in the area where the #344Fire is occurring unless absolutely necessary, as it can delay response times for first responders in emergencies. #bethedifference #savinglives #firstaid #stopthebleed #paramedic #ems #emt #firefighter #lawenforcement

An article of interest from EMS1 regarding advancements in combat care. Northern Strike 24-2 facilitates advancements in front line logistics and combat care From autonomous drone resupply to real-time battlefield blood transfusions, the Michigan National Guard exercise pushes the boundaries of front-line medical innovation By Maj. Megan Breen and David Kennedy, Michigan National Guard In a small grassy clearing nestled into the seemingly infinite pine forest of northern Michigan, the Commander of the 437th Medical Company Ground Ambulance watches on as his combat medics load into their ambulances and rush off to provide care after receiving a 9-Line MEDEVAC request. As the last ambulance pulls out, the mist which has soaked the field all morning turns to a heavy rain. The medics who remain on the site move into the command post tent to avoid the weather and wait for the field litter ambulances, or FLAs, to return. As the urgency of the last 9-Line request falls away, those huddled in the tent settle back into the steadiness of command post operations. The Company is a rotational training unit in the realistic and challenging training of Northern Strike 24-2, an exercise designed, in part, to test their abilities and incorporate innovative advancements in the field of medical logistics.
