North Mississippi Electrophysiology, LLC recently welcomed nurse practitioner Jessica Eaton to the practice. A 1994 graduate of Tupelo High School, Eaton earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 1998. She completed her master’s degree and nurse practitioner training at MUW in 2011. Eaton was employed for 13 years as a nurse practitioner with Endocrinology Consultants, LLC in Tupelo and is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). She also has experience coordinating clinical research, teaching and as a Critical Care Unit registered nurse. In her current role, she works alongside NMHS’ three cardiac electrophysiologists to treat patients with heart rhythm disorders, including managing medications and cardiac devices. “Everyone is someone's child, parent and/or sibling and deserves to be treated as such,” Eaton said. “When we are not at our best either physically or emotionally, we are the most vulnerable. I want to be able to provide caring, individualized care during those times.” https://bit.ly/43Z282w

When Beth Townsend joined the NMHS team in 1988 as a registered nurse, she was searching for a career that would allow her to make a profound impact on her community. Over the years, her journey took her from registered nurse to nurse manager in Oncology, where she dedicated herself to improving the lives of patients with cancer diagnoses for nearly 35 years. Beth's unwavering commitment to her patients was her True North. In 2024, this was put to the ultimate test when she was diagnosed with breast cancer herself. Suddenly, she found herself on the receiving end of the same exceptional care she had always strived to provide. “For the first time, I was the patient, and I didn’t realize I was going to have this wonderful staff taking care of me,” she reflects. “That’s when I truly understood that we are the True North. We take fantastic care of our patients and I’m so grateful to be a part of that.” Beth's experience as a patient gave her a renewed understanding and empathy for those she serves. After her treatment, she returned to Oncology with even greater vigor and determination. Her journey has come full circle, blending professional dedication with personal experience, and breathing new life into her True North. Beth's warmth and kindness have always been a beacon of hope for her patients, and now her story serves as a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from feeling a sense of purpose at work. She is more than just a nurse - she is a testament to her True North. Start your journey towards a career that cultivates your True North at www.nmhs.net/Join-Our-Team.
