We offer brand and product strategy; owned and paid channel strategy, planning & buying; creative development and implementation; social engagement and community management; packagage and identity design; branded entertainment. We do our best work with companies and brands that add real value to people's lives. We trust in human nature and that keeps us honest and our work relevant. Our culture is driven by the culture around us and our deep love affair with creativity. We look to things like music (a unifying human language if there ever was one), tech, entertainment and entrepreneurial communities to shape our ever-evolving, unique processes of making advertising (or whatever it's called today). But these are all means to an end, which is to create positive results for our clients. We've found this comes a lot easier when we truly believe in the people and companies with whom we work.

REAL IS BEAUTIFUL is the maxim NORTH lives by. Thanks to my friends Cathey Armillas and Marc Williams for hosting me on their online show "It's About To Go Down" and letting me bravely opine about Coke and Pepsi, express some hitherto fore unknown (even to me) libertarian views and bang on about the importance of truth in advertising and the notion that, per my business partner Mark Ray, marketing is a guest in entertainment's house so it should act accordingly. Somehow in this show I also manage to misquote Gandhi and fail to fully credit my friend and former colleague Justin "Scrappers" Morrison for coining the phrase "Make Love Not Ads." DO AWARD SHOWS MATTER? Yes, but primarily as a focus for community, which is why I'm grateful to Marc Moran, Doug Zanger and ThinkNW for introducing the Cascadia Awards - a much needed community hub for advertising excellence. Portland Or has always had a remarkably collegiate ad community. We deeply regretted the demise of the Rosey Awards. I'm happy we have a new show to celebrate our work. And I'm a bit smug that NORTH scored a Gold, six Silvers and a Bronze. Here are my colleagues with some fancy paper.
