NEBGH is thrilled to announce Emily Commer as our Senior Director of Membership! Check out her bio below and please join us in welcoming Emily! Emily Commer is the Senior Director of Membership at NEBGH. She has worked in nonprofit communications, fundraising and community engagement since 2006. Her career has been focused on creating professional development experiences for international visitors on exchange programs from all over the world. Most recently as Director of Alumni Engagement at Cultural Vistas for 17+ years, Emily worked with governments, foundations, and the private sector to design and develop innovative international exchange initiatives cultivating global community through social impact. In 2022, she was selected to participate in the Robert Bosch Foundation "Change Management Seminar" in Milan, Italy, alongside 30 fellow nonprofit leaders from across the globe. Emily holds an M.A. in International Business from the Open University of London and a B.S. in Global Business Management from California State University, San Marcos. She studied and did a post-graduate fellowship in Germany and speaks German pretty fluently! She lives in New York City with her two children and enjoys running, pilates, art, gardens, and spending time with friends and family near and far.
