The Hermon plant upgrade involved moving a 400TPH Astec drum plant from Westfield, MA, to a staging area in Maine in 2022. The 6 Ton Hermon batch plant teardown began in late November 2023. Earthwork, foundations, plant modifications, piping, electrical, and plant erection took place over the winter months. Key components were modified to convert the 400 TPH plant to 500 TPH and fit our footprint. Crews from around the state, as well as key subcontractors, supported the work in a team effort. Initial plant startup troubleshooting happened at an accelerated pace and went very well. The plant made its first sellable mix in mid-June and has been operating at full capacity many days this season with significant reductions in fuel consumption and waste aggregate. The Hermon Crew also managed to break their daily and weekly production records. A special thanks to the project leads Josh Farrar from the Hermon Plant, Darby Ludden Jaime Dupont, Bruce Kessler from the mechanical group, Stewart McCarthy and Mike Green from Earth and Bridge, and many more. Additional NEP setup support provided by: Craig McIntyre, Dalton Schinck, Jeff Pease, Tom Lamarche, Adam Fuller, Dawson Lambert, Tom Beal, Scott Vicnaire, Jay Alzereca, James Merrill, Josh Freeman, Andy Gagnon, Matt Crane, Randy Carr, Kevin Goldrup, Kyle Cyr The Lewiston baghouse replacement happened at the same time as the Hermon plant upgrade. The Sterling, VA baghouse was shipped to Maine and replaced a 40-year-old portable baghouse. The old baghouse was removed in December, new foundations were poured, some equipment modifications were made, and the baghouse was installed in the spring of 2024. Thank you to those involved: the Lewiston crew, Jaime Dupont, Bruce Kessler, and Dalton Schinck. Lastly, we’d like to thank Ryan Gibbs, Equipment Operations Manager, who spearheaded this project and made it a success. He did an amazing job coordinating all facets the entire way. #NEP #VINCIConstructionUSA #AttitudeAndExecution #PlantUpgrade #Appreciation #Teamwork #ConstructionSuccess #SustainableSolutions

MOST VALUABLE CONSTRUCTOR— Please join us in congratulating Kent Blake, Plant Superintendent, on being selected as our September 2024 MVC! We value your dedication and celebrate your success! Division Manager Brian Raymond shared, "Kent has been with the company for over 23 years and has worked his way up from a plant laborer on one of our portable asphalt plants to a Plant Superintendent, leading the high-paced operations at the Bangor Quarry. One of Kent’s best attributes is how much he really cares about not only what he has control of but everything we do in Maine. It’s not uncommon for Kent to ask how someone is making out elsewhere or for him to offer solutions and help where he sees that he can make a difference. Kent is also a great planner, making sure that he does everything he can to make sure the HMA plants and our other customers have the materials they need when they need it. He is another terrific example of the great people we have on our team.!" Kent, thank you for your dedication and hard work! A genuine MVC! #NEP #DirigoMaterials #VINCIConstructionUSA #AttitudeAndExecution #MostValuableConstructor #TeamMemberAward #Spotlight #PositiveAttitude #Essential #Leader #Appreciation
