The Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA) is an intergovernmental agency comprised of municipalities, fire protection districts, and other organizations located in the Chicago metropolitan area that have combined energies and resources to create a regional, state-of-the-art public safety training facility. NIPSTA's mission is to develop and provide high quality, cost-efficient educational programs that address the training requirements of fire, police, EMS, public works, hazardous material, and disaster response personnel. The NIPSTA curriculum responds to the public safety educational needs and high professional standards of local government and private industry.

Our newest class: Electric Vehicle Fires in Parking Structures: this class will address the challanges and dangers of electric vehicle fires in parking structures providing safe and effective tactics to be able to mitigate these types of Incidents. Offered through the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAMET), the Pre-Hospital Trauma Live Support Provider Course is a 16-hour program for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants and other emergency medical providers.
