Protecting working and wild lands forever.
About us
The Northern California Regional Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that assists landowners and public agencies in the voluntary protection and conservation of agricultural land, open space, wildlife habitat, and other natural resources. Working across Butte, Glenn, and Tehama County, we are dedicated to responsibly stewarding natural landscapes and our region's deeply rooted farming and ranching heritage for generations to come. To advance our mission, we negotiate conservation easements, facilitate land acquisitions or exchanges, and provide professional planning and technical assistance in natural resource management and conservation. We also support environmental education for people of all ages, host events that bring the community together to celebrate land, and work to increase public access to wild nature and to outdoor recreation opportunities in our region.

The Catholic Herald recently featured an article on The Abbey of our Lady of New Clairvaux and their NCRLT-held conservation easement! Read more…“Each acre protected represents more locally produced fruits and vegetables, local beef, and dairy,” Hannah says. She also states that easements mean “less carbon produced by industrial practices, more open space, and clean water and air.” New Clairvaux Abbey’s sustainability brings forth the fruit of their agricultural labors, such as walnuts and prunes, and perhaps most notably, wine grapes and their end-product of award- winning wines. Its on-site wine tasting is but one of the Abbey’s many inviting offerings. “The public is welcome to visit daily and enjoy periodic events on the ranch, and the easement protects these community connections,” https://lnkd.in/gfHf9r8v

Northern California Regional Land Trust reposted this
Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of projects are waiting to be funded by the Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB)—projects crucial to ensuring a safe, healthy, and sustainable California. In the face of growing climate threats, we urgently need Governor Gavin Newsom to pass the #2024CAClimateBond. California's Land Trusts need stable, ongoing funding sources to meet our #30x30 and climate action goals. 📲 You can help! The governor and the legislature have until June 15 to agree on a final budget. Contact your Assemblymember or Senator today to let them know you support the #2024CAClimateBond and the May Revise proposal to backfill funding for the WCB with Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund money. Let them also know that you oppose the cuts to the Habitat Conservation Fund (HCF) and the proposal to end ongoing general fund support for the HCF. Registration now open! This free hike, guided by NCRLT and Shelly Kirn, local birder/retired CSUC instructor, is open the public. We will hike from the interior trailhead for Deer Creek Preserve, winding our way creek-side on the trail, taking our time viewing as many birds as we can observe. The hike is moderate as a whole, but has one steep hill. Space is limited! Sign up with your best birding friends! https:/https://lnkd.in/d7SSQs9q
