Get ready for our 2nd Annual Back to School Community Resource Fair—it's back and better than ever! Help us reach our goal of distributing 250 backpacks filled with school supplies. Everyone's invited to join in the fun right here on our campus on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 1 pm to 4 pm. This year, we've teamed up with Manayunk Development Corporation to collect brand-new backpacks and school supplies. Drop off your donations at their table during Stroll the Streets on Thursdays, or coordinate a drop-off/pick-up with Kat at kchhiev@northernchildren.org.

Northern's Youth Promoting Peace (YP3) Summer Session has been in full swing and we had a packed house during new orientation. Stay tuned for more updates as our journey unfolds!

Alternatively, you can schedule a drop-off or pick-up with Kat at kchhiev@northernchildren.org. Exciting news! We've teamed up with Five Below Andorra (located on Henry Ave in Roxborough). If you plan to shop there for supplies or other items, remember to bring the posted flyer or mention Northern Children's Services at the register (any day between 7/12 until 7/26). This way, 10% of your purchase will support Northern!

Northern is seeking a talented Maintenance Supervisor to join our team! Under the guidance of the Director of Buildings and Grounds, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing and maintaining our facilities. Northern started July on a sweet note! Northern's Sunshine committee hosted an Ice Cream Social, and it was a blast. What better way to spend the afternoon than enjoying ice cream and catching up with coworkers? Here's to more fun times ahead! 

Summer has been an incredible season filled with wonderful events hosted by our amazing community partners! We had the pleasure of tabling at the 3rd Annual CNI “Jump Into Summer” Safety & Health Resource Fair and Wadsworth Day hosted by Council Member Anthony Phillips. We appreciate the opportunity to share our resources with the community, including how individuals can become Resource/Foster Parents. A big thank you to everyone who came out!

Happy 4th of July from everyone at Northern Children's Services! Wishing a safe and spectacular Fourth of July! 

For this month's Staff Spotlight, Amanda Ollison, Adoptions/Permanency Supervisor, has nominated Aaliyah Collings. Amanda stated, "We decided to nominate Aaliyah, Adoptions/Permanency Worker, for the month of June. Aaliyah has been an exceptional employee. She is dedicated to providing families and children with resources to achieve permanency, demonstrating patience, creativity, and attention to detail in all her services. Her efforts highlight the love and support families offer children. Aaliyah’s work ethic, hard work, and contributions to the team are highly valued and appreciated. Thank you, Aaliyah for all that you do!"
