Northland is a real estate private equity firm with $8 billion of assets under management, including more than 26,000 residential units and 1.3 million square feet of commercial space, and a $3 billion development pipeline. Northland’s core competency is the acquisition, development, long-term ownership, and management of multifamily and mixed-use assets. The firm currently owns and manages properties across sixteen states, with concentrations in New England, Atlanta, Florida, Austin, and Los Angeles. Northland was named to the National Multifamily Housing Council’s (NMHC) list of Top 50 Largest Apartment Owners for the past eight years and was recently recognized again on Multifamily Leaderships’ list of Best Places to Work in Multifamily, and the Best Places to Work in Multifamily for Women.     Suzanne Abair, Northland’s President and COO, recently spoke as a panelist at the “Dream Big! Leadership Conference” at UMass Boston. Dream Big! is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls and young women through sports and physical activities. Suzanne shared insights with young athletes on how sports taught her resiliency, teamwork, and leadership. She emphasized the hard work required to progress in your chosen career and spoke about rising up the corporate ladder at Northland to co-owning the WNBA team Atlanta Dream, adding, "You can't be afraid to take risks and bet on yourself.
