The topic of fan life comes up quite a bit in our industry. SANYO DENKI AMERICA, INC has written a great new blog post about how we specify our fan life data for design engineers. While MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) gives an estimate based on electronic components, the L10 service life rating, which focuses on the life span of grease and bearings at specific temperatures, provides a more accurate measure of fan longevity.
