  • One of the best presentations on the impact of AI in travel that I've seen (given at WiT Africa) which is why I wanted to run it in full. Well-thought-out, well-visualised and well-articulated, it broke down the impact in waves and how we all need to think and adapt at each stage – of course, Chris Hemmeter being a Waterman from Hawaii, he used waves as the surf, sorry, storyboard. It was both terrifying and exciting for me as a writer because after listening to his speech, I read this article on “AI is the web’s new power user” in which “Cloudfare reports that AI crawlers are scraping 39% of the top websites and making requests 300 to 500 times more frequently than Google’s search bots. Why? One reason is model training, but the other, perhaps more intriguing, is that we're no longer the ones searching – AI is doing it on our behalf.” What does this mean? Does it mean we have to think like machines now to write for machines? All travel suppliers should read this. #artificialintelligence #traveltech #hospitality #traveldiscovery #witafrica #nextgeneration
