We are delighted to announce the multi-year extension of our contract with Northwell Health, the largest health system in New York State, for improving employee health and well-being through our myHealthyBody digital therapy solution. myHealthyBody has demonstrated its effectiveness with Northwell Health’s employees since the beginning of this collaboration in 2019, helping to prevent injuries, accelerate recovery, and enable employees to get back to work quicker, delivering a positive cost-benefit analysis. myHealthyBody addresses the needs of employers to reduce employees’ musculoskeletal injuries, particularly large employers in high-risk industries (e.g., healthcare, construction, haulage, etc.), through digital triage, on-demand self-care advice and customized exercise programs. What an insightful article in Vator’s “Meet the VC” series about Aegis Ventures co-founder and managing partner John Beadle, and the company creation platform built to partner with health systems!   The partnership between Northwell Health and Aegis Ventures has resulted in the development and launch of several healthcare companies, including Caire, Ascertain and Optain.   Aegis will be expanding its scope by working within an expanded healthcare system ecosystem through its Digital Consortium. We believe healthcare systems are best suited to understand and prioritize the changes needed in healthcare, and possess the knowledge and know-how to fix these problems head-on. Through our partnership with Aegis, Northwell Holdings has been able to explore creating these solutions on a commercial scale so they can be utilized by organizations across the healthcare landscape. Northwell Holdings is thrilled to announce that Kate O'Donnell has joined as Managing Director. In this capacity, Kate will oversee venture investment strategy, capital investments and portfolio management. In addition, Kate will continue to advise the team as an Assistant Vice President of Legal Affairs for Northwell Health.   Kate joined Northwell Health in 2016 as legal counsel, and has been integral to the success of Northwell’s venture capital investment team since its inception. Leveraging her background in venture capital and M&A, Kate has provided guidance to the Holdings team regarding more than 30 portfolio company investments, and has collaborated on the launch and management of numerous internal spin-offs and commercial joint ventures, including Caire, Optain and Ascertain.   Prior to joining Northwell, Kate worked at Hughes Hubbard and Reed, LLP, where she focused on M&A and private equity investments. She then joined Willkie, Farr & Gallagher LLP, where she expanded her focus to, and developed her passion for, venture capital investing. Kate earned her Juris Doctorate from Duke University, as well as a Masters of English. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Richmond. She serves on multiple boards, including Optain and Caire Health.
