Who is NRG? What does NRG do? While these questions may seem straightforward, the answers are far more nuanced. NRG Stories looks at answering those questions by going below the surface in departments across our company. We begin with our VP of Product & Enterprise Innovation, Suraiya Khoja, as she explores how her team uses data and technology to understand the unique needs of our customers. https://bit.ly/3Uftf43

This week we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month at NRG Energy, a day filled with delicious foods, vibrant dancing, laughter, and the joy of sharing our rich culture with our NRG employees. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to co-lead the HOLA BRG with my amazing colleague, Mayra Morales. This year has been unforgettable, but we’re just getting started in elevating our members and continuing to showcase the beauty of our culture. #HispanicHeritageMonth #LifeAtNRG

The US faces significant challenges, with aging infrastructure and an anticipated 40% increase in demand by 2040. How can we overcome bottlenecks and unlock new opportunities for renewable integration? These are topics that Dynamo Energy Hub’s Co-Founder & President, Kristin Barbato, asked of our panel of grid infrastructure executives during a panel called Gridlock: The Challenges and Opportunities Facing the Transformation of the Energy System. The panel featured Lynda Clemmons, Chief Sustainability Officer at NRG Energy, David Hardy, Group EVP & CEO at Ørsted, Sarah Orban Salati, CCO at National Grid Ventures, US, and Sandhya Ganapathy, CEO at EDP Renewables North America, to discuss the ongoing grid modernization efforts and their insights into policy shifts that can drive grid innovation. #DynamoSummit2024 #ClimateAction #ClimateWeekNYC #ClimateWeek #EnergyTransition

🧡 As part of our commitment towards Truth and Reconciliation, our Direct Energy team members in Calgary and Edmonton formed an internal group called RISE (Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and Supporting Equity) two years ago. Our mission at RISE is to foster awareness and understanding of Indigenous culture, history, and the issues faced by First Nations in Canada. We are dedicated to promoting diversity, inclusion, and building stronger relationships with the Indigenous communities we serve. From volunteering, donating winter supplies, and creating job opportunities to highlighting the rich histories of Indigenous peoples, we continue to seek ways to come together and serve better. Let’s continue to listen, learn, and take meaningful steps toward reconciliation. A heartfelt thank you to our RISE committee members, Megan Woodward, Colleen Geddes, Marc Miller, Stacey Schorr, Melissa Forde and Amanda Weighill, for taking the initiative to create this employee-led group. Your dedication in organizing educational training for employees and volunteer opportunities at Indigenous community events has been instrumental in helping us foster respectful, lasting relationships with Indigenous communities. We truly appreciate all your hard work! #NationalDayForTruthAndReconciliation #TruthAndReconciliation #OrangeShirtDay #EveryChildMatters #IndigenousRights
