✨ Event Recap: Becoming a Professional ✨ Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting our first recruiting info session of the semester, “Becoming a Professional”. The goal of this event was to help students prepare and build momentum for one of our biggest events of the semester: the Night of Networking this Wednesday and CWRU Career Center’s Career fair this Thursday. We know that recruitment events can often bring feelings of anxiety for many students, so our aim was to provide them with the tools and confidence to be as prepared as possible. 🙌 A special thank you to: - Nina Lafko from Park Technologies for sharing insights into her company and offering valuable advice for navigating the upcoming recruiting season. - Ariel McWhorter, former NSBE president and CWRU alumna, now at Procter & Gamble, for her tips on how to stand out as an intern or fall applicant. -Stephen Furlow-Munn from OMA for delivering practical strategies on how to confidently approach recruiters and master that all-important elevator pitch. Lastly, thanks to Darin Hall (杜汉文), our historian, for capturing the night’s highlights. 📸 We’re excited to continue helping our members grow and succeed in their career journeys!

✨ Recap: NSBE CWRU’s First General Body Meeting of the Semester ✨ This past week, we hosted our second event of the year – our first General Body Meeting (GBM) of the semester! 🙌 Our President, Tosa Odiase shared exciting plans for the upcoming months, including our collaboration event, The Night of Networking 🤝, and highlighted the opportunities available for students to attend the NSBE Regional Convention in Wisconsin this year. 📅✈️ We had a great turnout and enjoyed connecting with both new and returning members. 🧑🎓👩🎓 Our executive team also had the chance to introduce themselves and engage with everyone, setting the tone for an amazing semester ahead. 🎉 📈 Growth Over the Years! We are also happy to see our chapter has been growing significantly each year! From 35 new members in 2020-21 to an incredible 240 members starting 2024-25, our NSBE CWRU family is expanding rapidly. This growth reflects our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive community for all students. We can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together this year! 🚀💼 Stay tuned for more exciting events and opportunities! 🌟

CS & Finance @ CWRU • Prev Data Analyst Intern @ Aptiv • Software Engineering Fellow at Headstarter AI

Today I’ve wrapped up my first internship with Aptiv. I couldn’t have been more fulfilled from the experience this summer of working with the CS Production Control & Logistics team as a data analyst intern. I want to give a huge thanks to my team Andrew C Hrusovsky, Patricia Calai, David Haswell, Teri Mcginnis, & many more who’ve helped me develop myself as a professional and more as an individual. As I look forward to my junior year, I hope to continue to develop and grow myself as I did this summer.

Biomedical Engineering Student | Vice-President of NSBE Case Western Chapter

It has been an honour to spend 12 weeks working as an intern at the largest Procter & Gamble Plant in the United States, based in Mehoopany, Pennsylvania. I was able to gain valuable experience and meet memorable interns, managers and business owners. I was also able to connect with the African Ancestry Leadership Network and they were able to provide me knowledge on how to navigate the corporate world as a professional. My coach, Sean Reese, along with the rest of the Towel Converting Department I worked with served as great resources towards my 5 projects. Through my time, I was able to understand their Purpose, Values and Principles that make P&G run the way they do. Through these, I was able to show my impact in my projects, aimed at improving safety for business owners while ensuring we continue to produce the quality that shows reinforced our commitment to consumers. I would like to thank Taelor Allen, Kalyce Williams, Dave Cours, Kristie Tunnicliff, Robert Rutty, Steve O'Brien, and many others.
