Meet Preston Taylor, our August Member Spotlight! As Vice President at Appian Commercial Realty, Preston specializes in general brokerage within the Collin County market. He also serves as a core committee member of the NTCAR Young Professionals Forum and chairs the Golf Tournament Committee. Preston grew up in real estate with his father, Bry Taylor of Bryson Realty Advisors, who has been active in McKinney for over 30 years. Unlike his two older brothers, Preston was drawn to the business and felt it was important for someone in the family to pursue it. Preferring to avoid working directly with family, he discussed his career path with Ray Eckenrode at Appian Commercial Realty. Today, Preston is thriving in the industry, despite its challenges. When Preston joined Appian, Ray recommended NTCAR as a valuable group to be member of. He quickly realized the benefits, noting that NTCAR and the Young Professionals Forum keep him well-connected with the Dallas business community since he primarily focuses on Collin County. One of the most significant aspects of his involvement with NTCAR has been his participation in the Young Professionals Forum, which has nurtured both new business relationships and personal friendships. His favorite event is the golf tournament, not only because he enjoys being part of the organizing team but also because it directly benefits his local community in McKinney, TX. His best advice to someone getting into the industry is to be prepared to work hard and consistently save. Success in this business often takes years to achieve. Additionally, he advises making networking a priority and being deliberate about sharing what you do with others. Outside of NTCAR, Preston enjoys spending time with his family. He has been married to his wife Hayley for just over three years, and they have a two-year-old son named Brooks.
